€42k awarded over hotel ceiling collapse

A Co Kildare woman has been awarded €42,000 in damages after her wedding reception ended in chaos when a hotel ceiling collapsed.
The High Court was told that Joanne Noone’s wedding day will be forever clouded by the memory of the accident at the Setanta House Hotel at Clane Road, Celbridge, in September 2003.
33-year-old Ms Noone, from Maynooth in Co Kildare, suffered from post traumatic stress following the incident, during which she was trapped underneath rubble and had to be freed by her husband.
