‘Fancy A pint of Plain’, with Eamon Morrisey in Newbridge?

Well known on the Irish scene, it was in another era that Eamon Morrissey first came to the attention of the Irish public. It was another recessionary time and now 35 years on, the imitable Eamon Morrissey is back with his unique brand of comic relief with The Brother, based on the writings of Myles na Gopaleen, aka Flann O’Brien.
Morrissey’s relationship with The Brother began when his solo show opened in the Peacock Theatre thirty-five years ago. The hilarious writing of Myles na Gopaleen and the comic talents of Eamon Morrissey combine to provide a piece of entertainment that has endured through the years.
If you want to learn at source about the atomic dangers of bicycles, and to understand why ‘a pint of plain is your only man’, then The Brother is the show for you.
Ripe for a revival in these stringent times this fresh look at The Brother was premiered in Spring 2009, and has, in spite of the penury of the masses, been playing to gatherings of raucous and enthusiastic rabble around the country.
Riverbank Arts Centre is delighted to welcome Eamon Morrissey and this wonderful, timeless production of The Brother to Newbridge on Tuesday May 25th. An evening of pure entertainment not to be missed.
