Local TD and Minister of State, Aine Brady, has been informed by the Minister for Education that he has instructed Kildare VEC to close the transaction for the purchase of the site for the New St Patricks School in Celbridge.
‘Kildare VEC, who are acting on behalf of the Minister, are now in a position to close the transaction for the purchase of the site for the new school.’
‘This comes on back of the decision by Kildare Co. Co. to grant outline planning permission to the VEC for the construction of a new 16 Classroom National School, and associated Car parking Spaces, a School Bus Drop and Play Area, at The Commons, Hazelhatch Road, Celbridge.’ Stated Minister Brady
‘This will replace the existing temporary St. Patricks National School located at Celbridge GAA Grounds.’
‘In 2006, following a meeting I had with then Minister for Education, Mary Hanafin, her Department gave approval for the new school for Celbridge, a year ahead of the proposed date for approval, which eased the pressure for school places. This has significantly improved the capacity for primary school places in Celbridge and has improved the educational infrastructure in the town.’
‘I want to compliment also those involved in bringing the project to this stage’ concluded Minister Brady.
